How solicitors helped us get through 2020

The last sixteen months have been incredibly difficult for all of us, and will not be forgotten in a hurry. As restrictions are lifted, I’ve been reflecting on how incredibly grateful I am for the support of Will Aid solicitors throughout the pandemic.

2020 was particularly tough for charities. Demands for services went up, yet many saw their income go down. At a time when the services charities provide was more vital than ever, fundraising events were cancelled, charity shops closed, and funds dropped significantly.

That’s why I’m doubly grateful for every solicitor who participated in Will Aid. By waiving their usual fees for Will-writing and encouraging clients to make a donation instead, they helped our partner charities continue to carry out essential work across the UK and around the world. The donations raised by our amazing solicitors helped fund new services brought on by the pandemic, from tackling loneliness in self-isolation to delivering hygiene kits to some of the world’s poorest communities.

And I’m hopeful that this year, we will raise more donations than ever before, to help our nine partner charities recover from the impact of COVID-19 and continue their vital work. Together, we’ll help give some of the world’s most vulnerable people a chance to look forward to a happier, healthier future.
